Genesis Foundation presents Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival 2018
Kasauli Rhythm and Blues (KRBF) is a Genesis Foundation’s flagship. An annual music festival running in its 7th edition. Spread over the scenic mountains of Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh the festival is a mecca for music enthusiasts interested in listening to a diverse pool of established and upcoming talent, the festival has delivered some of the most exceptional live performances – from the mesmerizing Usha Uthup, Shilpa Rao, Leslie Lewis, Rabbi Shergill to the flavorsome Sonam Kalra and Kutle Khan Sufi Collective amongst others in the past. This Year KRBF promises to be more exciting and is allset to host some of the finest musical minds of India.
Here's a glimpse of the 2017th edition of the festival
Parvaaz is a contemporary Indian music band whose four members have assimilated several international progressive/psychedelic rock influences but their own expression has a rootedness that makes their sound unique. They sing mostly in Kashmiri and Urdu and their own line-up reflects the diversity they come from. Khalid Ahamed (vocals), Mir Kashif Iqbal (guitars), Sachin Banandur (drums) and Fidel Dsouza (bass) constitute the Bangalore- based rock group. The band recently released their debut LP, "Baran" and are currently on tour promoting it.
When Chai Met Toast is a four-piece folk-rock band, When Chai Met Toast describes their music as heart-warming, happy and smile-worthy. Taking inspiration from the lighter side of life, the band has quickly gained a fan following for their brand of infectious happy music, which transcends age, genre, and language.
Suraj Jagan is one of the pioneers of the Rock Music Movement in India. His singing career spans 28 years of experience which includes being part of very successful Rock Bands, Advertising Jingle Campaigns Bollywood Playback & acting in Theater Productions & in a Bollywood Film Rock On and 3 Idiots. Following the success of 3 Idiots, Suraj has been touring the country performing with his band at various college fests and corporate award functions. His shows are high energy rock based shows and the performances comprise of his songs from Bollywood films as well as other popular songs from the same genre.
Thermal And A Quarter (TAAQ) is a path-breaking band from Bangalore, India. TAAQ describes its music as ‘Bangalore Rock’; a sound as unique and layered as the fast-growing city of its birth. Imagine a Phish-meets- Steely Dan-via-Mahavishnu-Orchestra vibe: the TAAQ sound is all that and more. Through the last 15 years, TAAQ has played all over India, completed tours in the United Kingdom, West Asia, and South-East Asia, released four studio albums, supported acts like Deep Purple and Jethro Tull, and won awards for individual musicianship as well as overall contribution to ‘Indian Rock’.
